Diablo Valley CYO Track & Field

Welcome to the home page of the Diablo Valley CYO Track & Field, serving parishes in central Contra Costa County and part of the Diocese of Oakland, California.

The track & field program takes place in the spring, with practices starting February 1st and activities continuing through the Diocese Championship Meet in mid-May. The program is for young athletes in second through eigth grades who attend parish schools, parish religious education programs, or who live within parish boundaries. The original record for the Men was established in 1999 by Queen of All Saints (51.47).

This was the second year in row that St. Ignatius won the Men's race and the 6th year in a row for the CTK women. In another landmark, there were no reported injuries this year!

Diocesan Championship Meet Announcement

Once again, it is time for the Oakland Diocese CYO Track and Field Championship Meet - the "Diocesan Meet"!

This year, we will return to James Logan HIgh School, Union City for our Friday night meet, and to Granada High School, Livermore, on Saturday. As last year, the opening prayer and parade will begin the meet on Saturday and will be before the 4X100 relays. We encourage all to participate. Finally, there will be two high jump pits this year so all high jump grades will be on Saturday.

A PDF file containing the Cover Letter, Fact Sheet, Order of Events and Spike Memo for the Diocesan Meet is posted on the Track page of the Diocese CYO Website. Please read the information carefully and pass it on to your coaches and athletes.

A reminder that only 1/4-inch or less pyramid spikes are allowed. Check your athletes' spikes BEFORE arriving for the meet.
