CTK CYO Track & Field

Welcome!​ We are a CYO track program for all 2nd through 8th grade athletes in the Pleasant Hill / Martinez / Walnut Creek area. No church affiliation is necessary. We compete in the Diablo Valley Catholic League, which is Section 1 of the Oakland Diocese. Our team is sponsored by the Christ the King, St. Catherine, and St. Stephen parishes. Elementary and middle-school athletes living within the boundaries of the three parishes are eligible to participate on our team as are students (including religious education students) at any of the three parish schools.

Our practice season typically begins in February, and meets take place on Saturdays from March through early May. Signups are typically held in January.

2022 Track Season

Volunteering: Our team is 100% volunteer-run and every family is required to contribute a certain number of hours to make the program work. There is a $250 volunteer deposit per family that is returned/shredded if obligations are met. See Volunteer Obligations and Refunds.

Practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Alhambra High School track. Practices start at 5:30pm, and go until 7:00pm, or dark.

Meet Events: A typical meet includes the following events:

Individual running events:

  • 50m dash (5th grade and under only)
  • 100m dash
  • 200m
  • 400m
  • 800m
  • 1600m


  • 4x100m
  • 4x400m
  • "Sprint Medley" (100m, 100m, 200m, 400m)

Field events:

  • Softball throw
  • Long jump
  • Shot Put (5th grade and older)
  • High jump (5th grade and older)​

Update - 01/06/2022

Great news!  Our 2022 track and field season is a go!

Signups for the 2022 season will be held at 555 Boyd Road, Pleasant Hill, CA on Wednesday 01/12/22 and Wednesday 01/19/22 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. 

Due to the quick turnaround required for registration before our season starts in February, we will not be accepting registration forms on the first day of practice.  We will also not be accepting any late registration forms.  If you are planning on participating during this upcoming season (and we hope you are), we will need your completed registration forms and payment on 01/12 or 01/19.

Please complete the following forms and bring them with you on the night of signups:

  1. Family Sign Up Form (1 per family)
  2. Health Authorization Form (1 per athlete, signed by parent)
  3. Concussion Awareness Form (1 per athlete, signed by parent and athlete). 

In addition, a copy of a birth certificate will be needed for each new athlete.  Returning athletes are not required to provide a birth certificate.

Cost is $80 per athlete, plus $15 for a jersey, if needed.  Sweatshirts are also available for $35.  You will need two checks - one for registration, and one for your volunteer deposit.
